You're likely actually going through withdrawal of the hormones if you were taking birth control pills before switching to the IUD. The switch now means the pills that were controlling your oil production and acne are now localized to your uterus and not the bloodstream... leaving your normal hormones & skin to do what it was doing this whole time.
It actually can take a very long time for your hormones to balance out. It took me almost 8 months to get through it.
I would definitely follow the suggestions on this sub. Differin makes a big difference for hormonal acne and you can it OTC in the states. Focus on cleansing and hydrating!

I dealt with minor acne in high school but nothing like I'm seeing now. I'm getting painful pimples turn hard and don't go away. Any suggestions welcome. :(
